Today was the first day of “Weird Animals Vacation Bible School” It was sooooooooooooo AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had TONS of fun! Joanna and Megan helped in the games, and we played two games today with all the groups that came. One was called “The Shrinking Island” which is just like musical chairs. We played some VBS music, and as it played, groups that were from kindergarten to 6th grade, (each group had 5-10 kids) acted like animals and walked around paper plates on the ground. When the music stopped, everyone had to find a plate. If you weren’t standing on a plate, (one person per plate!) you were out. Eventually, the one person left won the game. We played another even more fun game called “Chain Relay”. Four people would link arms so that the people on the end would have one free arm. The people on the ends with a free hand would have to work together while still linked on to the others to roll up a newspaper and put a rubber band around it, cut a circle out of a piece of construction paper, and feed each other marshmallows. It was so fun watching, helping, and encouraging the others as they played the games. I ate a lot of marshmallows, and Oreos! Yay! 🙂 We had snack which was purple kool-aid and one-derful parfaits. We sang some songs, and pretended that we had leprosy, and the day’s saying was: “Even when you’re left out, Jesus loves you!” It was very, very fun, and I can’t wait for tomorrow.
Oh, and my little brother, Elijah, has a birthday on Wednesday, in two days. He is turning a decade (10 years) old! He wants to have his birthday party back in Urgup, with all of his friends, minus Colton Dillard, and Jake Schaus because they are away and can’t come. He is very excited about it, and talks about it all the time.
